These are your classic sweet scones – absolutely fabulous with cream and jam

  • 500g SR flour
  • 75g butter
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tsp tartar (unless use buttermilk)
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • Egg & milk

Rub the butter into the dry ingredients and use the egg and milk to moisten it and make a dough.

bake at about 190 for around 20mins.
